I have food poisoning, one of the first things I said was don't give me antibiotics. The doctor said "okay fine". They gave me IV's which were very helpful but I was prescribed antibiotics, I asked for an alternative TWICE, and refused, turned into a discussion on why antibiotics are not safe, which I had no intention of having with someone with a certificate that "proves' they are right. 3 alternatives to dealing with food poisoning. (Not medical advice, I don't have a license.) -Tea: Chamomile, green, etc. -Activated charcoal, (cannot be taken with other medications) -Raw, uncooked, unprocessed honey. -others? Maybe ayurvedic doctor can help. I took the other medicine but realized 3-4 days later the other medicines are centered around the antibiotics. Meaning my body is now filled with toxins from not having diarrhea, and I'm more sick than I was. I was told how well India was doing with medical practices, but it's just more pill pushing for big pharma. If I take antibiotics I will feel better tomorrow, but then next week I will be sick, with candida overgrowth and dependant on more "medicine" to deal with the symptoms but never treat the cause, of course, the "medicine will cause more symptoms(side effects) I can mask with more pills. I suggest the doctor look up "candida overgrowth" as he tried to lecture me why antibiotics are safe. Unfortunately most doctors do this, this is what they are trained to do. It's the training that's the problem, but what is FAR more dangerous is giving someone a certificate, title, and they refuse to question what they learned. And of course, their patients pay the price. Financially, and with their health/well being. 3 stars because everyone there was very kind and helpful. And the doctor works hard, means well. 3000 rupee for IV's (3 bags) and prescribing medicine. I thought this was a life lesson to trust, but I have more distrust in my heart as I lay in bed with fever, shaking, coughing, dehydrated.
